hospital or institution for the treatment of the sick recognised by the Council under this Section:

or

(d) In the case of a nurse whose training has been obtained in a hospital or institution not recognised by the Council under this Section, evidence that the applicant has been trained for at least one year in said hospital or institu- tion, and has been for two years subsequently before the 1st day of November 1919 bona fide engaged in practice as a nurse in attendance on the sick, and such special evidence of adequate knowledge and experience as the Council may consider satisfactory in each individual case ;

or

(e) A certificate of not less than two years' training in a hospital or institution for the treatment of the sick (except mental hospitals or institutions for mental defectives) recognised by the Council, and evidence of not less than one year's training in a general hospital or institution having one or more resident medical officers recognised by the Council for training for the purposes of the general part of the Register, all such training being before 1st November 1919;

or

(f) In the case of a Nurse who was at 1st November 1919 engaged in actual practice, and who was also bona fide engaged in nursing prior to 1st January 1900 and who does not comply with the above requirements, such special evidence of knowledge and experience as may be accepted by the Council in each individual case.

(4) For admission to the supplementary part of the Register con-

taining the names of male nurses—

(a) A certificate from the Local Government Board for Scotland or from the Scottish Board of Health that the applicant possesses the qualification for this part of the Register required by the Department so certi- fying;

or

(b) A certificate of not less than three years' training before 1st November 1919 from a hospital or institution recognised by the Council for training for the purposes of the Register of male nurses, or as a male nurse in the service of the Admiralty, the Army Council, or the Air Council, or as to part of said period in such a hospital or institution, and as to the remainder as a male nurse

in the service of the Admiralty, the Army Council, or the Air Council;

or

(c) Evidence that the applicant has been for three years before the 1st day of November 1919 bona fide engaged in practice as a male nurse in attendance on the sick, and evidence that at least the first one of the said three years has been spent as a male nurse in a hospital or institution for the treatment of the sick recognised by the Council under this Section, or in the service of the Admiralty, the Army Council, or the Air Council, or as to part of said one year in such hospital or institution, and as to the remainder as a male nurse in the service of the Admiralty, the Army Council, or the Air Council. (5) For admission to the supplementary part of the Register contain- ing the names of nurses trained in the nursing and care of persons suffering from mental diseases—

(a) A certificate of not less than three years' training before 1st November 1919 in the nursing and care of persons suffering from mental diseases in an asylum or in- stitution recognised by the Council, or in the service of the Admiralty, the Army Council, or the Air Council, or as to part of such period in such an asylum or institution, and as to the remainder as a mental nurse in the service of the Admiralty, the Army Council, or the Air Council, for training for the purposes of the Register of mental nurses;

Or

(b) Evidence that the applicant has been for three years before the 1st day of November 1919 bona fide engaged in practice as a mental nurse, and evidence that at least two of the said three years have been spent in an asylum or other institution recognised by the Council for training for the purpose of the Register of mental

nurses;

or

(c) In the case of an applicant who is qualified for admission to the general part of the Register, or the separate part of the Register containing the names of nurses trained in the nursing and care of mental defectives, a certificate of not less than two years' training before 1st November 1919, in an asylum or other institution recognised by the Council for training for the purposes of the Register of mental nurses;
